OUR HISTORY
In 1981, Stan Mania and Peter Nicholson set out to establish their own small business producing concrete valve boxes, slabs, mounds and covers for the Western Australian plumbing scene.
With the unheralded onset of a recession in 1982, their venture proved to be more challenging than originally anticipated, yet in many ways, this was to be the defining point of difference between the newly named Mania Nicholson and a number of other established companies, forced to close their doors.
With an instinct for survival and ‘plumbing’ in their blood, both men soon recognised a string of opportunities in the area of light manufacturing. Beginning with the acquisition of a few old redundant welding jigs, their stable soon grew to include varied tooling and machinery, all collected from once thriving factories now sitting dormant around Australia.
Times were anything but optimistic but while most firms remained preoccupied with cutting back, Stan and Peter headed off in the opposite direction. What followed is now history. Through dogged determination alone, Messer’s Mania and Nicholson went on to make their names synonymous with the Australian plumbing industry.
We’ve seen a lot of changes since those days but we’ve never forgotten our heritage.
Since inception, Mania National has expanded to become a recognised national supplier, well known for our depth and ongoing diversity. With a name change to Mania National, we’ve shifted into a purpose built facility in Enterprise Park Wangara, a modern industrial area in Perth, Western Australia
The company, now owned solely by the Mania family, boasts an impressive mix of manufacturing which brings the competitiveness of overseas production together with continued local manufacturing and focus on research and development.
Acquisition of PTL (Plumbing Testing Laboratory) from the Western Australian Water Corporation adds yet another dimension to our already multi facetted business and cements future avenues into the international arena.
As the company continues to push the boundaries, one element of its character remains steadfast; that being our willingness to listen and our preparedness to help you in any way we can.
